A family is suing a hospital and surgeon in Michigan for a girl who died during surgery.
According to the death certificate, 13-year-old Quiniece Henry died from a perforation to her heart after complications with an intravascular line five days after pediatric surgeon Dr. James M. DeCou placed a catheter inside her.
The lawsuit, filed by Quentin Henry, Quiniece's father, accuses DeCou of “negligent placement of a central venous catheter.”
